COMEDY: Comedy @ the Waterfront(Reviewed by Eden Carter Wood)In the spirit of full disclosure I must confess that I went along to this comedy night because I know some of the talent. Yeah, I know. She’s my friend on Facebook and everything.
Showing off aside, I had a great time. The Waterfront is a great pub with friendly staff and good pizza and even a garden out the back. The place was packed out; this is clearly a popular comedy night fixture.
Rich Wilson, the compere, was great, chatting to the tables up front and introducing the first comedian as ‘the sexually active Joe Wilkinson,’ which made me laugh, which was probably his intention. Jason Patterson and Suzi Ruffell (I know her! she’s great, and I know her girlfriend Faye too! etc) were really good, as was Felix Dexter. I hadn’t seen him live before, and he was awesome actually.
It was a great night and we all laughed a lot, is the quick version of this story.
Highly recommended.
