What is Diva? DIVA is a monthly magazine for lesbians and bisexual women, published in
English by the Millivres Prowler Group. Its purpose is to entertain and
inform its readers about issues and events of importance to lesbian women,
to provide a forum for discussion within the lesbian communities, and to
encourage lesbians and bi women to feel happy and positive about their sexuality. The
editor will consider any material which meets these criteria.
What kind of material is appropriate for Diva? The magazine is divided in to several sections, regular and occasional:
Think Tank: Provocative think-piece space for issues of interest to readership
Reportage: News features, brief and in-depth
Cartoon strips: British lesbian cartoonists sought!
Interview features: With women of interest to the readership
Diva People: Introduducing women in interesting/high profile professions
Queer Tribe: Couples, friends and colleagues speak about their lives, work and relationships
Real Life: Interview-based features focusing on issues affecting the readership
Everyone's Talking About: Short profiles of faces to watch in a variety of fields
Fashion: Redefining lesbian style - fresh angles always welcome!
British and foreign features: articles on the following subjects and themes are always popular - relationships, sexuality, gender, ethical dilemmas, political activism, style and fashion, social trends, profiles of individual lesbians and bisexual women, spirituality, history, satire, sport
Scene Coverage: photos and vox pops of punters at lesbian venues, particularly outside London
Please note that Diva does not publish unsolicited poetry or short stories
Photographs We are always on the look out for new talent, so drop us a line at
edit@divamag.co.uk with samples of your photographs and illustrations.
How to send work for consideration: Do not send original artwork or sole copies of written material.
Articles submitted as hard copy must be typed, double-spaced, with the author's name and
contact details on every page.
Material may be submitted by fax, email or on disc (enclose hard copy if submitting on disc).
Please send a stamped, addressed envelope if you want your work returned.

Payment Diva pays approximately £150 per thousand words. We pay in pounds sterling, on publication. We require invoices for all fees received. Any other payment arrangements must be by prior agreement.
Work experience at DIVA DIVA occasionally offers work experience placements to journalism students.
To apply, send us your CV together with a covering letter outlining why you would like to do your work experience with us.
You must include three examples of your magazine writing (published or unpublished).
Remember to date your covering letter and tell us when you are available for your placement. It is advisable to give us at least two months' notice of your preferred dates and an alternative period if possible.
